Antigone: Set in Thebes around 441 Meant to be performed Part of the Theban trilogy (Oedipus the King/Oedipus Rex, Oedipus at Colonus, and Antigone) Though the last of the three chronologically, Antigonewas written first. The action of Antigone begins at the close of Oedipus at Colonus with Antigone and Ismene returning to Thebes after their father’s death to help their warring brothers (too late…)
