  3. The Big Question • Why are Catholics leaving The Church? • Bottom line is usually doctrine.

  4. What is Apologetics? “Apologetics” simply means giving a reasoned explanation for our faith. A Catholic apologist charitably explains and defends Catholic doctrine using Scripture, history , and common sense.

  5. Why Catholic apologetics? The Catholic church today is being challenged vigorously by non-Catholic evangelizers. Unfortunately many Catholics feel ill-prepared to defend their faith in the face of these attacks. We must LEARN to explain our faith CLEARLY and HUMBLY, defend it CHARITABLY, and share it CONFIDENTLY.

Apologetics fulfills St.Peter’s command “Always be prepared to make a defence to any one who calls you to account for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and reverence,…”.( 1Peter 3:15) We do not think having all the arguments will necessarily win others to Christ and His church but we need to allow God and His grace to work in the lives of the people we speak with.
