  1. October Homework

  2. About me: Ms. Stewart Favorite quote by an artist: “We have to give our opinion, we have to say something, or we are a part of it. As an artist I am forced to say something.” Ai Weiwei • Diane • Older than you  • Favorite food: popcorn and sushi • Favorite sport: swimming • Favorite band: nearly everything, but prefer rock music • I like art because it is fun to look at interesting pieces, learn about the artist and where they are from and why they do art

  3. Art found in my house. This past summer I bought this gorgeous red tree painting from a man selling them on Alki Beach in Seattle. I like to put pops of red in my living room, and this was the perfect picture. I will tell you the name of the artist when I get home tomorrow.

  4. My Art I choose this piece of art to share because it reminds me of the hot summer day down in Napa, CA with my nephew and his girlfriend. They always celebrate company by asking if they would like to join them in their chalk art on their patio. Then they have stories to tell about all the different art and people. The art goes away with the rain, which makes me think about how sometimes people leave us…so we should cherish them while we can and treat them with care. I like the curved lines and warm colors in this picture. I really feels like it’s moving. Then I laugh because “Moving Pictures” is one of my favorite songs by Rush. I was older than you when I did this in the summer of 2013.

  5. In my community This is a carving that I found at Richmond Beach in Shoreline, WA. I will have to find out the name of the artist when I go there again. • I picked it because I really like Native style art and think carvers have a lot of patience.

  6. My favorite famous artist I think the artist that made this topiary should be famous because people gasped in awe when they saw, “Le Terre Mere.” I took this picture when I visited Montreal, Ontario, Canada this year. I think it was a group of people that built the armature (the framework) and planted the plants. I’ve written to the MosaïculturesInternationales de Montréal group to find out more. Sadly, this exhibit will be gone by October 6, 2013.

  7. Art in a large city nearby (optional) • Photo • Maybe you’re traveling to a large city and have the opportunity to see some more art. • Tell what city, how far it is from Kingston, why you picked it….credit to artist
