  5. Achievements 2000- 2006 • £400m spent • 637 directly supported projects • 385,449 beneficiaries supported • 116,617 have gained a qualification • 35,911 have gone into employment • 13,951 companies supported

LSC Priorities • Young people • Increasing participation, attainment and tackling and preventing NEET • Adult • Increasing literacy and numeracy and attainment of 1st full Level 2 & 3 and Skills for Life • Employers • Increasing full level 2 and 3 attainment in the workplace • Tackling Worklessness • Engaging individuals and communities

Consultation Process • Establishment of external Co-Financing Groups • Formalised Terms of Reference • Involves key stakeholders – Yorkshire Forward, JobCentre Plus, Local Authorities, Third Sector, Higher Education, Business Links, Offender Learning organisations, Sector Skills Councils • Ensures ESF doesn’t displace other funding streams and adds value

  9. First round commissioning - £59m • We have 25 specifications covering up to 40 contracts: • Adult - £14.3m over 6 contracts • Youth - £12.5m between 11 and 14 contracts • Employer - £26m over 10 contracts • Other - £6.4m over 14 contracts

Priority 1 Outputs and Results 2007-2010 • Total number of participants 48,000 • Number of unemployed and inactive participants supported 37,000 • Number of NEETS and those at risk of becoming NEET supported 15,000 • Participants into work on leaving 4,200 • NEETs into education, employment or training on leaving 6,750
