  1. WHERE DOES OUR TAP WATER COME FROM? NORWAY

  2. Every day, every person in Norway use ca. 200 liters of water. Around 10 liters goes to beverages and cooking, while the rest goes to other uses, such as cleaning, hygiene, laundry, toilet flushing etc. The water supply covers the needs of others than households, as businesses, fire departments, schools, kindergartens and health institutions. It is approx. 1600 waterworks in Norway providing water supply to 90% of the population, while the remaining 10% have a private well or less common plants

  3. Your body consists of over 70% water, and you should drink at least 2.5 liters a day.Good hydration is positive for brain activity, physical activity, dental health and skin.

  4. UN Human Rights Council adopted on 30 September 2010 that access to water and sanitation is a human right. There are still more than 780 million without a satisfactory source of water, and climate change and population growth will hit hardest those who have the poorest water and sanitation today. Investing in water pays off, because improved water and sanitation could prevent 9.1% of all diseases, 6.3% of all deaths, a total saving 2.5 million lives annually. Norway has an important role to play through our voice in international fora and with expertise and assistance funds. WATER IN THE WORLD
