Figurative Language Poster Directions: • Use a sheet of unlined paper (8.5 x 11). No binder paper, please. No pencil on the final draft. • Include all of the following on the front of your paper: • The name of your assigned lit term (i.e. simile, metaphor, personification, alliteration, hyperbole) • A creative independently created example of your term • An image in color that depicts your example On the back, include: • The definition of your term (i.e. Simile: the comparison of two unlike things using like or as) • Awritten explanation of how your example "works" (i.e. Her eyes are pretty and green, just like emeralds are pretty and green.") • Your name, date, period Tips: • Use the best art medium for your strengths: draw it, collage it, cut and paste it, use the computer, scrapbook it---whichever style works best for you An A for this project will... • follow directions, front side and back side • be clean and visually attractive and in color • not look like you spent just five minutes on it You will present your poster to the class on Friday for a grade!
Example….but you can do better than this! Mrs. Tremonte 1/17/14 Period All Personification is the giving of human characteristics to non -human objects. I personified the cupcake by having her speak like a human being would speak.
