  2. Mission facts. • Space mission “Solar Sail” is intended for investigating of possibilities of control and the dynamics of the spacecraft subjected to solar light. • It had light thin-film large-area (600 m2) panels (Sails). • Was launchedon June 21, 2005. • Unfortunately, the first stage of the Volna rocket didn’t complete its scheduled burn, and the spacecraft did not enter orbit.
