Background • Small lakes regulations – considerable variation between and within regions • Significant contribution to complexity • Utilize existing Small Lakes Committee • Ministry subcommittee examined existing small lakes regulations • Identified opportunities to harmonize regulations across regions • 1 Region – 47 entries in synopsis • 32 special restrictions – 25 different combinations

  4. Province Wide Regulations • Bag Limits – decrease variation between regions • 4 or 5 trout per day (coastal vs inland) • 2 burbot per day • 5 kokanee per day • Water specific variations would be noted in the published regional tables

  5. Water Specific Regulations • Examine all small lakes regulations • Identify opportunities for simplification and harmonization between and within regions • Use region wide regulations where possible • Develop regulatory suites to address special management objectives
