  4. 實例一：文化、情緒、與認知Mesquita and Karasawa’s (2002) research • 研究問題：不同文化背景(independence vs. interdependence)如何影響情緒之建構？ • 研究對象：日本與美國的大學生。 • 研究方法：透過經驗取樣法，大學生每天每隔三小時紀錄一次情緒經驗，並評估該情緒經驗與哪些認知向度有關，為期一週。 • 研究結果：日本與美國大學生建構情緒經驗的方式不同。例如，與美國大學生相比，日本大學生之愉悅情緒與social engagement有較強的正向關係，與loss of face與 immoral behavior of another person則有較強的負向關係。 • 結論：在亞洲文化中，情緒是社會關係的一部分，它是以關係做基礎，而非以個人內在感受做基礎。這是與西方文化較不同的地方。 Mesquita, B., & Karasawa, M.
