UK unemployment • The number of unemployed people is now 2.46 million, up 30,000 • The number of people unemployed for more than 12 months increased by 71,000 over the quarter to reach 618,000, the highest figure since Nov 97 • The unemployment rate for 18-24 year olds increased by 0.7% on the quarter to reach 18.0%, the highest figure since records began in 1992.
Digital skills • Knowledge economy equal to traditional economy • 77% of all jobs require some digital skills • 10m people digitally excluded
