  1. A popular saying in our culture… “The only things certain in life are death and taxes.” To this “list” we add a third “certainty”…

  2. Resurrection

  3. For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth -- those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. John 5:26-29

  4. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 1 Thess 4:15-16

  5. When Jesus stood at Lazarus’ tomb and none believed He had the power, Despite their grief and their disbelief, He commanded, “Take away the stone.”

  6. When Jesus lay in Joseph’s tomb and none believed He had the power, True love spoke forth in a Father’s voice, And the angel took away the stone.

  7. When I shall lie within my tomb and none believe He has the power, The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout to take away the stone. - Resurrection Hymns For Worship # 557

  8. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed -- in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality,

  9. then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory. O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Cor 15:50-58

  10. In the resurrection morning, when the trump of God shall sound, We Shall Rise, Hallelujah! We Shall Rise! Then the saints will come rejoicing, and no tears will e’er be found, We Shall Rise, Hallelujah! We Shall Rise!

  11. In the resurrection morning, blessed tho’t it is to me, We Shall Rise, Hallelujah! We Shall Rise! I shall see my blessed Savior, who so freely died for me, We Shall Rise, Hallelujah! We Shall Rise!

  12. In the resurrection morning, we shall meet Him in the air, We Shall Rise, Hallelujah! We Shall Rise! And be carried up to glory, to our home so bright and fair, We Shall Rise, Hallelujah! We Shall Rise!

  13. We Shall Rise, Hallelujah! We Shall Rise! AMEN! We Shall Rise, Hallelujah! In the resurrection morning, When death’s prison bars are broken, We Shall Rise, Hallelujah! We Shall Rise! - Hallelujah! We Shall Rise Hymns For Worship # 645
