  4. A Christian is.. One Who Heard The Gospel and Believed it Acts 11:19-21 • No Christians in Antioch before this • Had not heard and believed • Those who did, obeyed • “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Rom.10:17

  5. A Christian is.. One Indebted to Others Acts 11:20 Someone brought the gospel to them Every congregation is indebted Rom. 1:14 “I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.”

  12. One With A Supreme Purpose To so live that we can enjoy the eternal home with God in heaven

  13. One That Cleaves To the Lord A Christian is.. Acts 11:23 Cleave = To stay with Mt. 19:5 “cleave to his wife” Christian is married to the Lord – Rm.7:1-4 Marriage is for life Being a Christian is for life

  14. A Christian is.. A Good Person Acts 11:24 Barnabas “good man” = upright, honorable Acts 10:38 Jesus “went about doing good” 3 John 11 “He that doeth good is of God”

  15. A Christian is always to be a good person Contradiction = one is a mean Christian Cannot be a mean Father, mother, son, daughter Neighbor A Christian will be a good person Everywhere To all people at all times

  16. A Christian is.. One Who Assembles Acts 11:26 Christians in Antioch assembled Christians in Troas assembled – Acts 20:7 Christians in this community will assemble Heb. 10:25 “Not forsaking the assembling”

  17. A Christian is.. One Who Accepts Responsibility Acts 11:29 “every man” “according to his ability” A Christian does as much as he can A Christian does not shirk responsibility

  18. “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” Eccl. 9:10 1 Cor. 16:1-2 “as God hath prospered him” Gal. 6:10 “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”
