  2. FORMAT PENULISAN MENU Semua awal penulisan kata dengan huruf besar Setiap jenis makanan dikelompokkan sesuai giliran penulisan dimulai dari giliran pertama. Contoh: Broiled Sirloin Steak Bake Potatoes Sour Cream Broccoli Hot Rolls

Bila jenis menu mempunyai peneman khusus (special accompaniment), dapat ditulis dengan cara hidangan utamanya dikiri dan penemannya dikanan, atau hidangan utamanya ditengah-tengah dan penemannya ditulis tepat di bawahnya. Contoh: Braised Pork Chops Apple sauce or Braised Pork Chops Apple sauce

  4. 4. Bila penemannya lebih dari dua atau lebih, hidangan utama diletakkan ditengah-tengah, beri jarak yang sama antara kiri dan kanan untuk penemannya atau di bawahnya. Contoh: Sesame Seed wafers Chicken Consomme Saltines or Chicken Consomme Sesame Seed wafers Saltines Ry-Krips

  5. 5. Bila ada minuman, diletakkan terakhir. 6. Jenis semacam butter, cream, gula atau salad dressing tidak perlu ditulis kecuali kalau dianggap merupakan daya tarik sendiri, maka boleh ditulis. Contoh: Head lettuce with Chutney Dressing or Pancakes Maple Syrup

  6. 7. Buatlah jarak dan aturlah setiap jenis dari menu hingga tulisannya tampak simetris. Beri jarak ekstra antara setiap giliran. Hal demikian kadang tidak berlaku pada tulisan di buku, majalah dan koran karena untuk menghemat tempat. Berikut contoh menu dengan tiga (3) giliran:
