  27. Energy Management Solutions (EMS) for Telecom Sites

  28. Index • Need for EMS • Approach and Product Strategy • EMS Products • Energy Management Solutions for Existing Sites • Energy Management Solutions for New Sites • GloGreen Site with Tower Operating Centre (TOC) • Indicative Case Studies • JN Solar Mission – Solar India

  29. Need for EMS • High Opex cost • Reduced operator revenue per user (Lowest ARPU) • Highest growth rate in subscriber base • Spread of services into rural areas – Reliable & quality power is a serious concern. • Serious concern for pollution – Can expect government restrictions and incentives on operators in near future. • E.g.: DG usage for telecom sites may be banned and subsidies may be granted for solar / wind power generation.

  30. Need for Real Time and Online Monitoring & Control of Infrastructure Asset for – • Cost reduction • Operations & Maintenance • Claiming carbon credits • Large number of telecom sites in excess of 10,000 sites or more per operator hence proper management of infrastructure is becoming increasingly impossible with out good remote monitoring & control system. This will become increasingly must for all operators specially for 3rd party service providers such as GTL.

  31. EMS Approach and Product Strategy • Approach • Smart • Simple • Cost Effective • Bringing Green Revolution to Telecom • Three Prong Product Strategy • Reduced energy consumption • Reduced cost of energy specially the recurring cost • Reduced maintenance cost
