  2. What is the War in Iraq? • The leaders of the United States wanted to fight a war in Iraq, even before the fall of the World Trade Center.Reasons being: -Iraq was a pretty chaotic country because of their leader, Saddam Hussein. -Iraq has told that they own weapons of mass destruction. -Iraq was using poison gas on Iraqi citizens.

  3. Negative Actions Made by the US • After the invasion in 2003, the United States disbanded the Iraqi Army that consisted of over 300,000 people. -After the army was disbanded and most of Iraq was destroyed (such as cities), unemployment was at an all time high at around 40-50%. -This caused people to take up arms and riot against American troops. -The United States was supposed to support Iraqi civilians by supplying food, medicine, jobs, or protection. However, when the United States didn’t support the Iraq people, many got upset and took up more arms.

  4. Fatalities • In the Wikileak Iraq War Logs, there were 109,032 deaths including 66,081 civilian deaths. • 4,489 American Troops were killed between 2003 and 2012.

  5. The Future of Iraq • As of now Iraq is in a state of chaos. With little support of the United States, the Iraqi people are slowly recovering. It will take many years however.
