The Constitution of the United States We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. The activities of extremist organizations are inconsistant with the responsibilities of military service.

Extremist Organizations AR 600-20 Soldiers are prohibited from active participation in organizations which promote supremacist causes, attempt to create illegal discrimination based on race, creed, color, gender, religion, sex or national origin, advocate the use of force or violence, or otherwise attempt to deprive individuals of their civil rights. -- PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES -- • Any violation of regulations or breach of law and order • Any activity likely to result in violence • Organizing or leading such a group • Participating in public rallies or demonstrations • Violation of off-limit sanctions

Extremist Organizations AR 600-20 Soldiers are prohibited from active participation in organizations which promote supremacist causes, attempt to create illegal discrimination based on race, creed, color, gender, religion, sex or national origin, advocate the use of force or violence, or otherwise attempt to deprive individuals of their civil rights. -- NOT PROHIBITED, BUT STRONGLY DISCOURAGED -- • Mere membership • Receiving liturature in the mail • Presence at an event not in an off-limits location “Passive Activities”

Extremist Organizations AR 600-20 For every action, there are consequences -- • Off-limits restriction on facilities that pose a threat • Education on the Army’s personnel policies • Counseling and advising • UCMJ action • Involuntary separation from the Army • Bar to reenlistment • Letter of reprimand • Reclassification • Loss of security clearance • Reevaluating potential for leadership and responsibility
