  5. Driving happens

  9. The weather does not look promising

  10. And civilization disappears

  11. John demonstrates being on the right side of a gate

  12. There’s the Observatory! Melissa, did you bring the key?

  13. No, John has it! Lopez helps. Maybe there is food inside.

  14. The Manastash Ridge Observatory (MRO)

  15. First, we assembled an antenna. Let’s see, Tab A goes in slot B...

  16. Oh no! I can still hear the voices!

  17. If you energize it with just the right frequency, you can put a hole right through...

  18. Heave! Ho.

  19. John is a consummate professional

  20. Which is a good thing!

  21. It helps to have an aura.

  22. And Melissa? Did you know Radha was a professional too?

  23. After putting up the antenna, serious work started.

  24. Worshipping the hardware is not really required.

  25. But I guess it helps.

  26. This grasshopper jumped just as the shutter snapped.

  27. I did some nature viewing. Here’s Mount Stuart.

  28. I liked the green moss. (This tree is NOT near the observatory, though.)

  29. Then I took a nap until the work was done.

  30. GPS And so we bid a fond farewell...
