Parent Notification Guidelines • AlertNow is to be used for school events only. • AlertNow is not to be used to promote or solicit fundraising activities. • You may publicize events and fundraising activities in the school newsletter, but do not send an AlertNow message or phone call with the purpose of promoting fundraising. • AlertNow is intended to keep parents informed, but should not be over-used. • Group events when possible and send as an email only. • For field-trips and paper-work reminders, use the grouping feature. • Use school-wide announcements for events that are school-wide: open houses, parent/teacher conferences, fall festivals, etc. • Confidential information should not be shared or sent via AlertNow. • Blank forms only. • No report card or grade information. • Emergencies will be communicated via the District Office. • School Closings, Dismissals, Delays • Evacuations, Lock Downs, Lock Outs • When placing a call: • Identify yourself & your school. • Leave a brief and concise message. • Say a farewell or goodbye.
