  2. Why ECC? “The earth is the Lord’s, and all that is in it.”  Psalm 24:1 “땅과 거기에 충만한 것과 세계와 그 가운데에 사는 자들은 다 여호와의 것이로다” 시 24:1 “The Lord God put the man in the garden of Eden to till it and keep it.” Genesis 2:15 “여호와 하나님이 그 사람을 이끌어 에덴 동산에 두어 그것을 경작하며 지키게 하시고” 창 2:15

  3. ECC Four Major Actions • Worship: Celebrate God’s grace and glory in creation • Education: Encourage and support each other in keeping and healing the creation • Facilities: Manage and maintain to respect and cherish all creation • Outreach: Encourage community involvement and public policy to protect and restore the earth

  4. How to Become an ECC? • Earth Care Pledge: Approved by Session, September 2011 • Form an Earth Care Team- with Congregation! • Conduct ECC Environment Audit (25 points in each of 4 categories: Worship, Education, Facilities, and Outreach), First Goal 100 points • Submit an application form to be an Earth Care Congregation • Continue working and Renew Each year

ECC Environmental Audit • Worship: Sunday devoted to earth care (5), Sermons (5), Exhibit (2), Paperless Service/Meeting (2), Outdoor Worship Services (5) • Education: Earth Care Theme Day (4), Guest Speaker (4), Youth Project (4), Articles published (4), Earth Care Bulletin (2), Earth Care web site (4), Earth Care Fairs/ Events (12) (#) points earned for an activity

  6. ECC Environmental Audit • Facilities: Zoned/programmable HVAC (half-3), CFL or LED light bulb (half-5), Motion sensors on Lights (some-2), Paper Recycle (most-4), Purchase recycled paper (half-3), Copies double-side (half-3), church publications by email (yes-3), Recycle glass & plastics (most-4), Tablecloths reusable (half-3), Plates reusable (some-1), Cups reusable (some-1), Flatware reusable (some-1), Less toxin in kitchen (some-1), less chemical fertilizer or pesticides (half-3), Bike rack (yes-2)

  7. ECC Environmental Audit • Outreach: Session voted for local, regional, national earth care legislation (4) Email to congregation to encourage to write email to elected officials about earth care legislation (2) Educate congregation with earth care materials from PC(USA) (2) Sponsor a member to attend PC(USA) Earth Care Conference (5) Collaborate with other ecumenical or secular groups focused on earth care (cf. CCAB) (5)
