Working Toward a Healthy Identity • As you develop a healthy identity, it is important to view your strengths and weaknesses in honest, realistic ways. • Part of developing a healthy identity is demonstrating positive values. • Having a sense of purpose in life can be considered a framework for mental health. • Another part of developing a healthy identity is forming positive, meaningful relationships. • Contributing to your community is part of developing a healthy identity. • Another aspect of developing a healthy identity is avoiding unhealthful risk behaviors.

  8. Self-Esteem and Positive Outlook • When you have a healthy identity, you will experience increased self-esteem and a higher level of mental/ emotional health. B.
