  1. The Immune System Presented By NovinNoori & RaunakSethi

  2. What Is It? The immune response is how your body recognizes and defends itself against bacteria, viruses, and substances that appear foreign and harmful. It has many types of cells that fight with the virus or antigen to protect the body.

  3. The Complement System

  4. Different Types of Cells Present T cells B cells Cytokines Granulocytes Natural Killer Cells Phagocytes Lymphocytes

  5. Cells Present in the immune system • T Cells – These cells contribute to the immune defences in two major ways. Some regulate the complex workings of the immune cells while others kill infected cells and destroy them. • Cytokines – These are diverse and potent chemical messengers serrated by the cells of the immune system. • Granulocytes – White blood cells act as a first line of defense, as they rush toward an infected area and engulf the offending microbes.  Granulocytes kill microbes by digesting them with killer enzymes contained in small units called lysosomes.

  6. Cells Present in the immune system • Natural Killer Cells (At least two types of lymphocytes) are killer cells – Cytotoxic T cells and natural killer cells. • Phagocytes and Granulocytes – Phagocytes are large white cells that can engulf and digest foreign invaders. • Lymphocytes - Small white blood cells which are responsible for much of the work of the immune system. Lymphocytes can be divided into three classes:  B cells, T cells and null cells.

  7. Diagram As You can see this is a diagram of the immune system which contains the two cells Lymphocytes and Leukocytes.
