  1. Reminders • Philippine Fortnight – Philippine Fortnight will be running until Wednesday 4th December. Water on sale all week for 50p per bottle. All money raised will go towards the Philippine Typhoon Appeal. If you have any items for the bric-a-brac sale, please bring to school by Friday 29th November 2013. Thank you. • With the days getting colder, please can you send your child into school with a warm, waterproof coat. Please also ensure that they come to school with a hat, gloves, scarf and sensible school shoes. • There have been a high number of children coming on to the school playground before 8:35am. The playground door is manned from 8:35am, ready for the school day to begin at 8:50am. Please ensure your child is not in the playground before 8:35am. Thank you. 01254 54851 This week……. Our Year 4 children have been to Samlesbury Hall as part of their Tudor topic. Year 5 children have been to Darwen Aldridge Academy to take part in a Global Enterprise Challenge. As part of the Philippine Fortnight, your child will come home with a cup next week to fill up with any loose change. Every penny collected will go towards an aquabox for the victims of the Philippine Hayan Typhoon. Thank you for all your support. Cool Maths Show All the children had an amazing time in Dr Marks maths shows. Thank you to all the parents who attended the sessions. I hope you found them as much fun as we did. Open Day – Wednesday 27th November Don’t forget our school Open Day on Wednesday 27th November, from 9:30am-11:30am and 1:15pm to 3:00pm. If you have a child in school, starting school or know of family and friends whose children will be starting school in the future, come along and see what being part of the Sacred Heart family is all about. Everyone welcome. Tell your family and friends. Friday 22nd November 2013Newsletter A booklet of all the work written for ‘We Are Writers has been published and on sale at £7.99. Please see the office if you would like a copy. Thank you to all of you who have returned the Focus Group questionnaire. Feedback will be provided as soon as possible. Breakfast Club Children are welcome to attend Breakfast Club from 8:00am until 8:30am every morning. Breakfast club is £1 per child per day and everyone is welcome. Tuesday Treat next week will be ‘Fresh Fruit Salad’. Toast on sale during Keystage 1 and Keystage 2 morning breaks on Tuesday and Thursday at 20p each. All monies up to Wednesday 4th December will go towards our Philippines Fundraiser. Fantastic Friday – Friday 29th November 2013 Children who don’t usually have a school dinner during the week have the option to have one on Friday. The cost of this is £1.90. Housepoint winners this week are Rubies. Well done! Teller of the Week All our Tellers this week have done a wonderful job letting the school know who the Gold Book winners were in their class. The Teller of the Week this week goes to Kauser Patel in Year 2. This week’s attendance award goes to Year 3 and Year 6. Well done Year 3 and 6! This weeks Mathletic award goes to Year 4.
