  1. It’s A Boy ! Congratulations to Mrs Shaw who gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Gabriel Christopher Shaw, on Wednesday 11th December. We wish her all the best with her new baby and hope she visits soon with Gabriel Christopher. 01254 54851 • Snow Closure Procedure • The Local Authority take the view that school closure is a decision that is only taken as a last resort when no other alternative is available. However, in the event of Sacred Heart having to close due to unforeseen circumstances, such as heavy snow, please can I remind you of the following procedure we will follow: • A message will be put on the school website front page. The school website can be accessed on www.sacredheartblackburn.co.uk . • Parents will receive a text message. • Radio Lancashire will make an announcement if Sacred Heart is closed (103.9fm, 99.5fm, 104.4 fm DAB). • Real Radio/Smooth Radio will be contacted by school. However, school closure details are not read out but will be posted on the Real Radio website. This can be accessed on www.realradio.co.uk and www.smoothradio.co.uk. • In addition, we will also leave a message on the school telephone system. Philippine Fortnight Thank you all once again for all the support you have shown in raising funds for an AquaBox for the victims of the Haiyaan Typhoon. We have raised a total amount of £310.35. School will round this amount to £330.00, allowing us to pay for 3 Aquaboxes. Thank you all once again. Art Exhibition Come along to Wensley Fold CE Primary Academy on Thursday 9th January 2014, 2:45pm to 3:45pm and view the wonderful artwork our Art Stars have produced. Friday 20th December 2013 Newsletter • This week …………. • Our Key Stage 2 children performed their Carol Concert. They all sang beautifully. It was lovely to see so many of you. A big thank you to all the staff and children who worked so hard to put on a lovely performance. • We had our school Christmas party’s. Everyone had a lovely time. Thank you for your continuous support during this past term. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Hope you all have a restful break, ready for the new term. Fantastic Friday – Friday 10th January 2013 Children who are on packed lunch or home dinners during the week have the option of having a school dinner on a Friday. This is at a cost of £1.90.   2. Golden Dip Winners Congratulations to all the children who were the Golden Dip Winners for this term. They are; Reception – Oliver Haworth and Fatima Iqbal Year 1 – Suhana Akram and Anwar Amin Year 2 – Ibrahim Mehmood and Nurjahaan Valli Year 3 – Armaan Ali and Faatimah Molvi Year 4 – Malaika Saeed and Amaan Mahmood Year 5 – Izza Ali and Qasim Hussain Year 6 – Ayisha Qadri and Saadiq Suleman A big well done to all of you. Breakfast Club Children are welcome to attend Breakfast Club from 8:00am until 8:30am every morning. Breakfast club is £1 per child per day and everyone is welcome. Tuesday Treat after the holidays will be ‘Crumpets’. This week’s attendance award goes to Year 5. Well done Year 5!
