  1. We say ‘Goodbye’ to Mrs Shaw who is going on maternity leave to have a baby. Good luck and all the best. Do come and visit us with your little baby. Poppy Appeal Monday 4th November to Friday 8th November. Poppyies on sale in school for 20p 11 children from our year 5 class were at King George’s Hall on Thursday singing to over 2000 University graduates. They all showed such confidence and did a wonderful job. Well done to you all. 01254 54851 We have an ongoing collection of used stamps to raise money for RSPB Save the Albatross appeal. Please tear off stamps from letters you receive and send them in to Mrs Smith. Thank you to all the parents who attended the Harvest assembly this week. It was lovely to see so many of you. THOMAS would also like to thank all of you for your kind donations. A small focus group of parents was held on Thursday 24th October 2013 to talk about parents involvement in the on-going discussions regarding the status of the school. It was agreed that a letter would be sent to the Diocese and Local Authority on behalf of all the parents. The group agreed that a questionnaire will be sent out to you all in the next few weeks to gather relevant information. Please could you make every effort to return the questionnaire in order that all your details and feelings are put forward? Thank you. Mrs Eskdale (School Business Manager) Thank you to the year 3 parents who came to the year 3 assembly. It was lovely to see so many of you. Keep an eye on the diary dates for when the class assembly is for your child. Friday 25th October 2013Newsletter My Lunch is Alive! Key Stage 2 children have all been given a leaflet about a competition linked to the new film ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2’. If your child would like the chance to win the fantastic prices on offer, they need to design a ‘foodimal’ then write a story. The address to send their entry to is on the leaflet. Parent Ambassador Next meeting on Thursday 7th November 2013 at 9am. All welcome. We are Writers Don’t forget wonderful writing entries to be in to Mrs Duckworth on Monday 4th November 2013 We have raised £143.85 today for Charity Day. Thank you all for your continuous support Wishing you all a peaceful and rested half term break. See you all on Monday 4th November 2013. Reading Eggspress workshop on Wednesday 6th November at 9am for Key Stage 2 parents. Fantastic Friday – Friday 8th November 2013 Children who don’t usually have a school dinner during the week have the option to have one on Friday. The cost of this is £1.90. They are; Year 1 – Abdullah Seedat and Maryam Iqbal Year 2 – Hassan Nazir and Kulsoom Nazir Year 3 – Jannah Ali and Amber Raja Year 4 –Hana Ali and Shifa Patel Year 5 – Izza Ali and Shabnam Raja Year 6 – Aimen Arif and Saad Rehman Welfare Stars – Faria Ahmed in Year 6 and Wasimul Haque in Year 1 A big well done to all of you. Teller of the Week All our Tellers this week have done a wonderful job letting the school know who the Gold Book winner were in their class. The Teller of the Week this week goes to Ummaimah Patel in Year 2. Well done Ummaimah! This weeks attendance award goes to Year 4 & Year 6 – Well done! Mathletics award this week goes to Years 2 to 5. Well done to all of you! Reading Egg award this week goes to Year 2! Well done. Rubies and Amethysts are this weeks housepoint winners. Well done Top table This week’s children on the top table are; Oliver Haworth and Qasim Rehman in Reception, Farhaan Saeed and Jamal Bashir Year 1, Kulsoom Nazir and Ummaimah Patel in Year 2, Noor Chaudhry and Aleena Ansar in Year 3, Shuaib Hussain and Umar Rizwan in Year 4, Mohammed Saif Taj and Hamza Shehzad in Year 5 and Fizza Hussain and Nekaybaw Punch in Year 6.
