Singapore Flag

The Singapore flag is halved horizontally, red over white. It has at the top of the hoist, a crescent moon sided by five stars in a circle, all in white. The colour red is symbolic of universal brotherhood and equality of man, and the colour white signifies pervading and everlasting purity and virtue. The crescent represents a young country an the ascent in its ideal of establishing democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality as indicated by the five stars.
