Welcome. Mrs. Readman’s Fourth Grade Back to School Night. Daily. Sign your child’s planner to indicate that all homework is complete and in his/her backpack. Your child will have a daily homework assignment. Study spelling words or math facts with your child. Mondays.

  1. Welcome Mrs. Readman’s Fourth Grade Back to School Night

  2. Daily • Sign your child’s planner to indicate that all homework is complete and in his/her backpack. • Your child will have a daily homework assignment. • Study spelling words or math facts with your child.

  3. Mondays • Handwriting • Practice cursive writing. ABCDEFGHIJ

  4. Tuesdays • Reading assignment • Strategies that will help get us ready for the reading assessment in the spring

  5. Wednesdays • Spelling 3x’s each or use each word in a sentence. • Spelling test will be on Thursday

  6. Thursdays • Students will re-write D.O.L. sentences correctly on notebook paper. • D.O.L. test is on Friday- 2 of the sentences and analogies from the week

  7. Friday • Spelling Book Work • Start preparing for next weeks spelling test • Due on Wednesday • Pick the night that works for you

  8. Daily • Math PowerDrill • First row spread throughout the week • Set the routine that works in your home • Due on Friday • Independent Reading and Math Facts as needed

  9. Weekends • Remove contents from the Friday folder and sign it • Continue reading and reviewing math facts.

  13. Consequences • First: A verbal warning • Second: Asked to move to the safe seat • Third: Asked to take a Think Plan to the Buddy Room • Fourth: See Dr. Wilhoit

  14. Planners Please check your child’s planner every night. Sign the planner to indicate that you have seen the contents and that your child has completed all the homework. I will check the planners the next day to verify your signature and check for notes. The planner serves as a wonderful communication tool between home and school.
