  1. How to Train Your New Sheepadoodle Puppy? Dogs can become happy family members but they must be trained the right way. The best age for a dog to be trained is when he is a pup. Get an English Sheepdog Poodle mix, which is your sheepadoodle and you have a bundle of fun on your hands and he can go on to give joy but make sure you take the trouble to train him first. Dogs are, by nature, pack animals and need a leader they can follow and look up to so if you get a dog for your family, take the training of the pup in your hands and impress upon his juvenile mind as to who the leader is. He will obey you unquestioningly. Force is not necessary. The right training technique is. Establish yourself as the pack leader

  2. Take it upon yourself to be your sheepadoodle puppy trainer and learn about things to avoid. Do not threaten him or beat him. Avoid making any sudden and violent movements that could make him cower and retreat in fear and be afraid of you. However, establish the social hierarchy of leadership by speaking in a firm tone. Once he accepts you as the leader, the rest follows. Basics The pup must learn obedience to commands to make him sit, come, heel, stay and down. This obedience training is a repetitive process in which you need to be firm and patient to make him understand the word and your gesture. Reward him for completing a task but do not make it a habit. Dogs have short attention spans so spread training over the day or in small doses. If you want him to sit and stay down, use the words repetitively with the right tone of voice but do not lose your cool, get angry and hit him. Behavior

  3. If left on their own, pups can become unruly and self-willed. He can howl at will, chew up your sofas and shoes, take to aggression or be letting off a stream of pee anywhere. If he does anything undesirable, be firm and talk in a strong tone, ignore him until he comes around. Once he does, give him a small reward. If he starts acting pushy then stand firm, look away and ignore him until he learns that he has misbehaved. Dogs follow leaders so they should never be allowed to go into the house first or emerge from it first. Make Him Come To You Do not indulge in petting your pup. He will ask for it. In this case, make him come to you by the use of appropriate words like “come” and your hand gesture. Whether it is your wish or his need, make it a point to make him come to you at all times. Establish the basics and teach him the elementary stuff and once the command is established, he will become your loyal and faithful pup. Obedience and house training take perseverance but it is rewarding in having a well-behaved pup who adapts to the family and gives happiness.
