Writing Workshop News

Our writing partners are helping us plan our stories across our fingers. We talk to our partners about our story and they help us write more details. Every day we practice putting spaces between words and writing more letters in words so others can read our terrific stories.

Literacy Highlights

We have met author Joy Cowley’s most famous character Mrs. Wishy-washy. We think she’s funny and has lots of rules on her farm about keeping clean. During our book talks we continue to make connections between the book we are reading and our own experiences. Making connections helps us understand stories. As you read with your child talk about those connections before, during, and after you read. We know the letter sounds B, F, G, H, J, M, N, P, R, S, T, and W. By Christmas, we will know all of the letters.

A Message From Mrs. Winter

The children and I thank you for such a great Halloween party. Our next family gathering will be on November 25th for a Thanksgiving Luncheon. We will have a family luncheon for parents and younger siblings. John and Jessica (Samuel’s parents) will provide turkey for the gathering. Each family will be asked to bring a dish to share that they would typically have at one of their family celebrations. We are expecting around 50 people at the luncheon. The children and I will prepare the desserts so please do not bring desserts. This will a nice way to give thanks for all we have, particularly our children.
