  1. Function Problem Project By kallie phillips

  2. My Real Word Problem • Rob and his girlfriend and their three friends want to go see step up 3d at the movies. If the tickets cost $5.00 each then how much will it cost total?

  3. The Equation • My equation for my problem is: y=5.00x or f(x)= 5.00x • X=the number of movie • Y=the total cost

  4. Independent and Dependent • The independent variable is x, which is my number of movie tickets. • The dependent variable is y, which is the total cost. • “y” depends on “x” So the total cost depends on the number of tickets

  5. Table

  6. Domain and Range • Domain- x values • Range- y values d:{1,2,3,4,5} r:{5.00, 10.00,15.00,20.00, 25.00}

  7. Continuous or Discrete • My data is discrete because it contains only points. • We would only use numbers that are like 1,2,3,4 and so on. Not anything between these.

  8. Function? • A function is where the x values do not repeat. • My x values don’t repeat, therefore it is a function.

  9. Graph

  10. Answer • Sooooo….. It would cost up to $25.00 without a coke or popcorn.
