  1. Function Project By: JT Morgan

  2. My Real world Problem • JT, Trevor, Austin, Kyrian, and Nick are going to go hang out at the fair together. If Each fair ticket costs 11.50, and they spend 4.50 each on snacks and drinks how much will they spend.

  3. Equation • The equation to my problem is: Y=11.50x+4.50x or F(X)=11.50x+4.50x X= number of tickets Y= total money spent (don’t forget snack money)

  4. Independent Dependent • The independent variable is the x-value which is the number of tickets. The dependent variable is the y-value which is money spent. If y depends on x then money spent depends on tickets bought.

  5. Table Of Values

  6. Graph Money Spent Number of Tickets

  7. Domain And Range • Domain- domain is the x-value • Range- range is the y-value • My domain is {1, 2, 3, 4, 5} My range is {16, 32, 48, 64, 80}

  8. Continuous Or Discreet • My data contains only points not a line so it is a discrete graph. • You can’t purchase half of a ticket you can only get whole numbers.

  9. Is It A Function • Function- a function is where one independent value is paired with one dependent value and no x-value is used twice. • I have no repeating x-values so my graph is a function.

  10. Conclusion • Since JT went to the fair with four other friends the cost was eighty dollars. By himself it would have been sixteen dollars. I wonder what it would be with 6, 8, and 10 dollars.
