  9. N N N U E E S S Conduct Grades • The number of checks you earn over a six-week period determines conduct grades. • If you break one of the major rules, your newsletter will be signed inside of your TAKE HOME FOLDER and you will receive a mark on your conduct sheet. • For each conduct area, students are given this many chances:

  10. Late Work Policy Students shall be assessed a penalty of 10 points per day for up to three days for work not turned in on time. Extenuating circumstances will be given consideration, and exceptions will require approval of the campus principal or designee. Late work turned in after three days will be assessed a maximum 30 point deduction. If the work is not turned in before the last day of the six-weeks grading period, a grade of zero will be assigned. An assignment is considered late if it is not turned in the day after it is assigned. If an assignment is not turned in, I will note it in their folder. Please check the students planner AND folder everyday for homework assignments. Every late homework assignment results in a mark on conduct WSH #2, and students will be required to complete the homework during study hall.

  11. Absent Work When you are absent, A While You Were Out form will be placed on your desk. This form will have written on it all the assignments missed from the day of the absence. Also, any worksheet that was handed out on the day you missed will be attached to the While You Were Outform. This work will not be counted late, so long as it is turned in on the make-up due date. For every day that you are absent you have that many days to complete the make-up work. If the work is not turned in on the make-up day, it will be treated as late work.

  12. Homework 1. We will assign students minimal homework over concepts they have already worked on in class. Students should feel a great sense of success while doing their work at home because they have shown success on similar problems/assignments in class. 2. The majority of homework will be assigned each Monday (for Math/Science). There may be times when other work may be assigned during the week. Reading homework will be to readeach evening (Mon-Thurs.) for 20 minutes. A Reading calendar will be sent home for parents to initial that their child did read. It must be initialed nightly. 3. Homework will not only be written on the board, but also in the student planners and on our websites. Please check our websites for additional resources regarding homework. 4. Your child will need to keep their daily homework, spelling list, and reading calendar inside his/her team folder and return this to class on a daily basis. We may be checking math homework from the night before, or doing an activity with the last night’s work, and your child will need to have it to be prepared for class. Reading calendars will be checked daily also.
