  1. Pixel detector status and infrastructures G. Bolla

  2. Pixel detector status Same as last meeting! (Skip the next two slides) BUT There is a new problem in FPIX: Started last Friday. It involves up to 5 ROGs. It is recoverable with a configuration. Mauro is following up and will present a few slides after me. (I better be quick) 11/29/2014 Gino Bolla Tracker day 2

  3. Pixel detector status (FPIX) Since Re-installation Newly developed The newly developed problems are all of the same kind and on the same readout group. There is a dedicated presentation toward the end of the meeting. BPIX at 97% during CRAFT 09 11/29/2014 Gino Bolla Tracker day 3

  4. Pixel detector status (BPIX) Since Re-installation Newly developed The newly developed problem is likely to be solved by swapping the FED. BPIX at 99% during CRAFT 09 11/29/2014 Gino Bolla Tracker day 4

  5. Pixel cooling • Running stable at target Temperature (4 deg C) since last Thursday. • Work during the shutdown: • Inserted the new quadrelli (Interface between actuators and valves) for long term reliability) • Added position sensors on critical Valves (reliability). • Improved/deployed/tested new PLC code (Automation of manual procedures) • Came back after 16 days OFF without any special action (Just turn ON) • Change the mech. Interface between actuators and valves. • Flowmeter in pixel-loop-2 (BPIX) is reading with bigger noise and offset. • Paola and EN-CV are investigating (Strip works has priority) • Still to do: • Exchange the filters in the cooling plant (they are now missing the gaskets) • Evaluate the results of the chemical analysis of the fluid sample. 11/29/2014 Gino Bolla Tracker day 5

  6. FLOW-meter misbehaving Before Now 11/29/2014 Gino Bolla Tracker day 6

  7. Other work during September shutdown Taken data at about 6% humidity for a couple of days for HMX calibrations. Changed filters in the racks cooling circuits Cleaned Heat Exchangers in the Racks. Exchanged turbines in the CAEN Racks. 11/29/2014 Gino Bolla Tracker day 7

  8. Pixel maintenance place at P5 I attended this meeting on September 15th. I posted to tech-coord our general specifications. (Thx to Mauro, Pasquale etc… for helping me out) Nothing is moving. Austin is still trying to understand what can actually be done with the buildings at P5 (French authorities involved). It is not yet clear what is the general plan of Austin. The “Crystal room” might not end up to be our place. There might be a bigger clean room to accommodate Pixel BCM Pre-shower 11/29/2014 Gino Bolla Tracker day 8

  9. Important dates in the near future: Today (in parallel) Tech-coord review of handout to central DCS. http://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=68966 October 13th TSS (Tracker safety System) review This includes our response to power cuts etc… October 20th (to be confirmed) TK Operation procedures with beams and general Tracker Operation Procedures. 11/29/2014 Gino Bolla Tracker day 9

  10. Cooling work during September 11/29/2014 Gino Bolla Tracker day 10
