  3. Abduction: Character summary • George Downey: Politician, middle aged, work orientated, corrupt, coward. • Faith Downey: Student (early 20’s), young, naive, obnoxious. • Tommy: Early 20’s, susceptible, vengeful. • Michael: Ex-assistant, vengeful, dastardly, intelligent. • Beatrice Downey: Caring, family-orientated, middle aged, married to George.

  4. Who were your characters based on? • George Downey: Based on Gordon Gekko (Wall Street). He’s harsh and ruthless, he also doesn’t care about breaking the rules and is selfish. • Faith Downey: Based on Kim Mills (Taken). Young and naive, unaware of the dangers that the world holds. • Tommy: Based on Billy Loomis (Scream). He is unaffected by what happened to his father but feels a sense of injustice so he takes action against the Downey family.

  5. Location Details (Abduction) • The drama is based in Camden. We wanted a location that had rough and questionable areas so that a kidnap was likely, but also somewhere that had areas fit for a politician to live in. Of the options, Camden was our preferred option.

  9. Location? Pembroke Gardens, Kensington, London. We decided to create a street, via merging two together, and use it as a self-titled radio drama as using somewhere within London (as it will be heavily referenced throughout the drama to reinforce the location) is highly relatable for anyone who lives in ‘city-life’.

  10. How did the location influence development? Originally, with our very first script, we planned to do some outside scenes, and so we took into account the kind of sound effects necessary to create atmosphere. Without these scenes, we still needed to reinforce the location, so we focused more on accent and sociolect within the dialogue for it to remain as true to form as possible.

  11. Possession ZaneThe villain, popularity seeking, imaginative, convincing, an outsider. Teena Impressionable, the sought after person. AndyLoyal, skeptical, insecure. ChuckSarcastic, aggressive, opinionated.

  12. Location Because most of the drama took place in the woods, we had to choose our sound effects and background noise to fit in. This meant we had to have audible footsteps when our characters were walking, woodland noise such as crickets and echoes when characters shouted because of the size of the wood. We chose this location because it is one of the most used locations for horrors, and it can be used easily to create a scary atmosphere.
