  2. What is Marine Engineering? • Marine engineering is a broad topic. It relates to an engineer that works with things in the water or on a ship. Marine engineering can be broken down into many different jobs for a person.

  3. What specific jobs? • Ship structure • Propulsion • Auxiliary power machinery • Pumps • Engines • Gears • Heaters • Deck Machinery • Steps in ship building • Estimating cost of equipment • Ship functions • Such as lubrication • Repairs

  4. College • Few colleges in the country offer marine engineering as a major • Main colleges that offer marine engineering • Texas A&M • University of Michigan • Marine Merchant Acadamy

  5. Salary • $72,000 • Outlook: Poor
