  2. IS IT ALIVE? • The rabbit is alive. • The toy rabbit is not alive. • Toys are not living things.

  3. IS IT ALIVE? • This plant is alive. • It is a living thing.

  4. IS IT ALIVE? • This plant is not alive! • What is it made out of?

  5. IS IT ALIVE? These things are not living. How do you know?

  7. What makes something alive? • All living things grow. • All living things need food, air and water. • Food, air, and water help them grow. • What do you need to grow?

  8. What makes something alive? • Living things make more living things. • Plants make seeds. • Animals have babies. • This is called reproduction.
