Research and development of aluminum mirrors for metal optics applications conducted by Masaki Mori at ICRR, Univ. Tokyo, in collaboration with Akiko Kawachi (Tokai), Midori Yuasa, and Michiko Ohishi. Presented at CTA meeting in Berlin, May 4-5, 2006. The study includes mirror materials, reflectivity measurements, weathering tests, and the need for anti-dew mechanisms. The summary outlines the progress in mirror development and considerations for real-world applications.

Summary • We are developing aluminium mirrors by simple manufacturing process. • Samples show modest quality (89% light within 0.1 degree). • Weathering tests are going on. • Anti-dew mechanisms should be developed. • In real use we may form a segment from multiple mirrors to save the number of tuning mechanism.
