Initial thoughts are: • 3 Industries to start: Insurance, Banking, and TELCO (built by SMEs) • Flash video adapted (touched up) from the Demo will be embedded in the Powerpoint (ppt) to make the tie in to the Demo • Scenario will be used for a variety of purposes. Each purpose to meet different objectives through the use of many different views/slices/perspectives into the scenario. Possible uses: • Initial (Sales Lead-out) demo will be a LOB demo approximately 20 minutes long that piques interest (Sales Objectives) • Additional views that show E2E Enterprise BPM, 6.1.2 features and individual product capabilities (Sales, Marketing & BPM Objectives) • Purple Thread Demo that builds a subset of artifacts (Tech Sales Objectives) • Sample View (Product / Development Objectives) • Tutorial View (Consumability Objectives)

Better Enterprise Storyline • Focus for this demo is on the Payroll aspect of the Employee Onboard process within a fictitious multi-national enterprise, Better Enterprises. • The payroll on-boarding process is used worldwide for each subsidiary and geographic location. • The Employee Payroll On Boarding is different for each subsidiary and each geography. • Some Payroll Tasks are choices (selectable) for the subsidiaries • Some Payroll Tasks are required for a geography regardless of subsidiary and set at HQ level • Some Payroll Tasks are performed by different systems for different subsidiaries (such as acquisitions w/ different payroll systems). These are set at HQ level.

  7. Easy Choice The IT dept had options on how to build the Employee Payroll On Boarding business function • Many processes modeled per subsidiary and geography vs. • One process modeled with select-ability and variability built in The Problem: How to quickly implement, change and manage business applications and processes for a diverse set of business variabilityThe Solution: Build a process that is configurable, flexible and dynamic using WDPE.

  12. Story line – Next w/ configurable dynamic processing Better Enterprises has an acquisition. This new acquisition has a different payroll system, is in another geography and will require a deviation from the basic standard process. Better Enterprises also has the requirement to allow the process to be configurable: • HQ would like to configure tasks that are across subsidiaries, specific for a subsidiary or geography • Payroll Managers from each subsidiary would like to configure their own employee on-boarding processes with out going to IT. (Talking Point and E2E storyboard – Pub Server, Modeler, Traceability, etc. Updated UI. IT will configure the web and business service but that does not need to highlighted here. IT will build using WDPE.) • Subsidiary Payroll Dept Employee or Manager can now configure their employee payroll on-boarding process. • Show in business space using forms selecting the subsidiary options and monitor • Highlight the configurability of the process • Highlight that the subsidiary can not change that they will be using a different payroll system (black box to them)

  13. This implemented through Policies (Show Image) Mean While – A Hiring Manager for the new acquisition tries to hire Applicant C but this time there is an exception / alert caused by the compliance issue with the Policy we showed you on the BPM (HR Frozen Tundra) • Hiring Manager receives the alert on their iPhone (Mobility messaging – blackberry, desktop gadgets, etc..)
