  6. India - Economy • Jute • Plant fiber used to make: rope, burlap bags, and carpet backing. • Cottage Industry • Home or village-based industry in which family members supply their own equipment to make goods.

  7. India - Religion • Hinduism – religion based on blended beliefs of several ancient Aryan tribes. • Reincarnation – soul continues journey until “perfection” is reached. • Believe it is wrong to kill any animal • Cows sacred
