  1. English 10 - 3/19/18 • Write on a subject of your choice. Something in The Life of Pi? • How many 16 year olds does it take to change a light bulb? • Cacographer – one who spells or writes badly. Goals – Discuss the questions, vocabulary, cool passages from Friday’s handout. Homework – Read chapters 2,3 and 4. Don’t forget to study for vocabulary 16-23 final Friday.

English 10 - 3/20/18 • On page six, Pi explains that Oxford “is fifth on the list of cities I would like to visit before I pass on, after Mecca, Varanasi, Jerusalem and Paris.” Explain Pi’s choice of cities. • Politicians and diapers should be changed regularly – and for the same reason. • Ambidexter – a double-dealer. Goals – Discuss chapters 1-4 student topics and my questions. Homework – Read, annotate, and answer questions for chapter 5 in Life of Pi.

  3. English 10 - 3/21/18 • On page 19, Pi compares people’s attitudes toward Zoos to those about religion. What does he mean when he says, “Certain illusions about freedom plague them both.” • Everybody is somebody else’s weirdo. • Angelolater – one who worships angels. Goals – Clarify questions, vocabulary, issues from the book about Life of Pi. Small group discussions related to chapter assignments. Homework –Read, annotate, and answer questions for chapter 6, 7, and 8 in Life of Pi. Study for vocab final 16-23.
