  1. English 10 - 2/18/14 • School is not the only place to learn. Agree? Disagree? Write about it. • Incontinence Hotline…Can you hold please? • Cagophily – collector of keys. • Goals – Watch the court scene from To Kill a Mockingbird. • Homework – What is the author’s purpose in writing chapter 21? Provide three details from the chapter to support your answer. Do a good job explaining those details and connecting to author’s purpose. Begin to study for Vocab. #21.

  2. English 10 - 2/19/14 • Did you really find a big idea in the book that applies to your life? What was it? Explain and give details. If not, explain why you didn’t find a big idea. Explain and give details. • Depression is only anger without the energy. • Oologist – collector of bird’s eggs. • Goals – Work on questions about the chapters in the book. Discussion of key elements. • Homework – Be sure you have read and annotated to the end of the book by Friday. Catch up on any writing assignments from last week.

  3. English 10 - 2/20/14 • Scout is not necessarily the most reliable narrator. How would the novel be different if it were narrated from Jem's perspective? Atticus's? Calpurnia's? Or in the third person? • As long as there are tests there will be prayer in public schools. • Discophily – collector of records. • Goals – Search online for background information about Jim Crow laws and practices in the south at the time of TKAM. • Homework – Finish the TKAM and prepare for vocab. 21.
