Rosa Parks Biography • Rosa Parks was born in Tuskegee, Alabama on February 4, 1913. Rosa Parks died on October 24, 2005 at the age of 92 at Detroit, Michigan, U.S. • Rosa Parks dad was James McCauley and her mom was Leona Edwardsthey were both carpenters and teachers. Her great grandfather was a Scottish - Irish man. • Rosa parks parents soon separated and when they separated Rosa Parks moved in with her mom at Pine Level, just outside Montgomery, Alabama and there she grew up on a farm with her maternal grand parents, mother, and younger brother Sylvester, and began her lifelong membership in the African melodist Episcopal church.
Rosa Parks bus boycott • On December 1, 1995 Montgomery, Alabama, Parks, age 42, refused to obey bus driver James Blake’s order that she had not given room for a white person. While her action was not the first of it’s kind of impact of the civil rights issue.
