  2. Reading for Pleasure WHAT? • We want to encourage Reading for Pleasure where every student is a reader • Everyone should read regularly, and have a reading book with them in school • We will provide regular opportunities for Reading for Pleasure

  3. Reading for Pleasure WHY? • Did you know that, by the age of 16, students who read half an hour per day are, on average, one school year ahead of those who do not? • Reading for Pleasure will help you with your spelling, your punctuation and your vocabulary in EVERY subject.

  4. Reading for Pleasure WHEN? • One registration per week will be devoted to Reading for Pleasure • You will need to have your reading book with you • Your Progress Tutor will tell you which morning you will need your book • Write it down in your planner • Keep your book with you at all times

  5. Reading for Pleasure • If you have read a good book, tell a friend • Share your books with each other • Visit the McAuley Centre and borrow some books • Join the school Book Club • Add your book recommendations to Book Reviews on Moodle • If you need help choosing a book, ask your teachers, friends or check out the reading lists on the school website
