Join forces with a partner to embark on an extended project work centered around the Olympics. What you will be doing: • Working in teams of TWO.Choose a country. • Extended project work. • Choose tasks from the following slides to complete. • Keep all your team’s work in a team folder on the same computer and printouts in the crate. • At the end of the quarter, each piece of work that is completed will be awarded points. • These points will be added together to give your team’s folder a total number of Olympic points. You must accumulate at least 100 project points. • Each member of the team will be awarded these points for your Country. • Every lesson I will award Bronze, Silver or Gold points: for the teams that have best product for that lesson.
Create an information leaflet for the event of your choice.(5) Create a national anthem. (5) Storyboard an advertisement to promote the Olympics. (10) Design a new logo for your country. (3) Write the opening speech for the games – thanking athletes etc. (10) Design a billboard promoting one of the sponsors of the Olympics. (3)
Write a pep talk for your team before the first event . (5) Create an Olympic menu – one dish from every country. (5) Plan the opening ceremony e.g. what will happen, in what order and who is involved. (10). Create & design a range of clothing to be sold at the Olympics. (5) Design a poster promoting public transport for the games. (3) Create a child friendly map of the site. (10) 2014 Olympics OLYMPICS Create an advertisement promoting the city of Sochi. (3) Create a leaflet about the history of the Olympic Games (10) Create a Chart showing the results of the men’s ski jump(5). Everyone attending the games must pass through rigid security. Debate whether this is right or wrong. (10) Create a questionnaire asking local people what should happen to the site after the games. (5)
