2014 Winter OlympicsSochi, Russia Torch Run
Bobsleigh winter sport in which a bobsled—a partially enclosed vehicle with steerable sled-like runners, accommodating two or four persons—hurtles down a course of iced, steeply banked, twisting inclines. A driver and three bobbers, the last one being the brakeman, compose a four-member crew. A two-person sled consists of a driver and the brakeman. http://youtu.be/S1fhLCs7A4A
Curling played on an ice court by teams of four. Each player hurls a squat, circular stone—weighing 38 lbs., dished on bottom and top and having a top handle for the player's grip—at the tees, or fixed goals, which are placed 38 yds. apart. Around each tee a circle is drawn with a radius of 6 ft. Each player is provided with a crampit, or spiked metal plate, to get a foothold on the ice, and a broom to sweep the ice in front of the swerving stone. The players on both teams alternately send the stones toward one tee; the stones lying nearest the tee at the end of play count toward the score. The play is then made toward the opposite tee. http://youtu.be/CM5mFH3_Qhs

Ice Hockey Game played on an ice rink by two teams of six players on skates. The object is to drive a puck (a small, hard rubber disk) into the opponents' goal with a hockey stick, thus scoring one point. A game consists of three 20-minute periods. http://youtu.be/OygmSwWfkBE
Skeleton a type of small, very low, steel-frame sled, on which one person, lying face down, slides headfirst down snowy hillsides or down steeply banked, curving, iced chutes. Steering is accomplished by shifting weight or dragging the feet. http://youtu.be/A0XhTk-krAs
Speed Skating Sport of racing on ice skates. Two types of track are used in international competition. The long track is about a one-quarter mile flattened oval (straight sides and curved ends) on which two skaters race simultaneously. In long track the race is against the clock rather than the opponent. The short track, a more recent development, is a 364-ft oval on which four to six skaters race during each heat. http://youtu.be/hR5XVlnxGjQ
Luge a type of small sled on which one or two persons, lying face up, slide feet first down snowy hillsides or down steeply banked, curving, iced chutes. Steering is accomplished by shifting weight, pulling straps attached to the runners, or using the feet. http://youtu.be/Ainc8xl0ln4
