  2. 1. CHERRY TREE Small species of cherry trees are one of the top flowering tree varieties in New Jersey. It has the benefit of having a double bloom; one in the spring and another in the fall. The Autumn Cherry Tree will hold up in cold weather and is relatively resistant to drought and a great choice, due to its beauty and the fact that it can grow almost anywhere.

  3. CRAB APPLE TREE 2. Crab apple trees blossom with white or light pink flowers in spring. They also have beautiful autumn foliage colors. In the fall, yellow fruits appear on the tree and stay into the winter months attracting birds and other wildlife.

  4. PURPLE PLUM TREE 3. Plum trees blossom with pink flowers in the early spring and turn to dark plum foliage in the summer. The Purple Plum tree needs full sun, or at the very minimum six hours of full sunlight. This particular tree likes soil that is on the acidic side but it is moderately tolerant to drought.

  5. 4. LILAC TREE The lilac is a deciduous, multi-stemmed shrub with an irregular, rounded outline. There are a few different species of Lilac trees to choose from but all have a beautiful fragrance and look. And they will grow well in sun or partial shade and will attract butterflies and humming birds to your yard.

  6. FLOWERING DOGWOOD TREES 5. The Dogwood Tree is a majestic ornamental, well adapted to life in the United States. One of the most common species, and the one about which you’ve most likely heard, is the Flowering Dogwood. These flowers are second to none for their beauty. This enchanting tree is hardy and easy to grow.
