Introduction to 1 & 2 Peter • Written by the Apostle Peter • One of Jesus inner circle of disciples • 1 Peter 1:1 says it was written to those “scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia.” • 2 Peter could have been a follow up letter to the same people • 1Per 5:13 says, “She who is in Babylon sends greetings.” Rome was known as Babylon, thus written from Rome • Both letters were probably written from Rome in the mid to upper 60’s

  3. Introduction to Jude • Written by the brother of James (1:1). This is probably James, the leader of the Jerusalem church and brother of Jesus • Jude could be same person as “Judas” the brother of Jesus mentioned in Mark 6:3 • Recipients and date of the letter are not known
