    2. Project Description An Engine Control Unit Reads several input sensors from the engine Generates outputs for Injectors and Coils Our Project entails Selecting appropriate electronic devices Designing and assembling a custom PCB Writing assembly routines to handle all engine states Placing the electronics in a heat resistant box Mounting the box on the Duke Motorsports Car Going Fast!

    4. Courtesy of Andrew “Amazing” Waterman Circuit Design PCB Layout Able to design custom components with PCB footprints! Schematic Capture / Auto-route DXP Software

    5. Accomplishments for Week Schematics Ben Ignition Coil and Injector Drivers Cam and Crank Sensor Conditioning Phil Signal Conditioning for 5 sensors (Manifold Air Pressure, Exhaust Oxygen, Coolant Temperature, Intake Temperature, Throttle Position) George PIC Microcontroller Flash Memory Module

    6. Selected Schematics…

    7. PIC Microcontroller

    8. Crank and Cam Position Sensors

    9. Problems Encountered Learning curve with DXP Software Doesn’t work on Vista? Surprise Surprise… PIC runs at 3.3 volts, logic runs at 5 volts No PIC programmer? Where is it?

    10. Old GANTT

    11. New GANTT

    12. For the next 7 wonderful ones… Check over schematics Place order for remaining components Design Preliminary PCB
