  2. General Description • Located at the bottom of the electronic cabinet • Easy front access for all boards inside the Control unit Control bracket Confidential

  3. General Description (Cont.) • The Control bracket concentrates all controls signals between the electronics cabinet and the computer. • The Control bracket is a passive board with DIN connectors for the following boards: • I/O Controller • Sol/Lamp driver • Auxiliary control board (ACB) • Galil board • It also contains D-type connectors for all proceeding input and output connections. Confidential

  4. I/O (Type I) Controller • The I/O (type I) controller is placed on the control bracket. • Controls most of the printing unit I/O components. • Receives input signals from I/O components, placed all over the printing unit, and updates their status to the computer. • Provides discrete input and output signals. • Has 64 digital inputs and 56 digital outputs. Confidential

  5. Output LEDs(Orange) Input LEDs (Green) RS-232 connector Manual reset I/O (Type I) Controller (Cont.) • Every active input or output switches on with an indicating LED. • Push button for manual reset. Confidential

  6. Solenoid Amplifier Driver • The Sol/Lamp Driver is dedicated for I/O (type I)controller outputs. • It boosts 24 VDC for solenoids and indication lamps switching. • It has 32 TTL inputs and a maximum of 32 power outputs. • Each output has its own indicating LED and can handle up to 1 Amp 30 VDC. • Power outputs of the Sol/Lamp Driver are protected against destructive conditions, such as: • short circuit • over-current • over-voltage Confidential

  7. ACB (Auxiliary Control Board) • The Auxiliary control board is placed on the Control unit bracket and sends the following signals: • Signal for external dryer. • Generates the Iron command. • 24VDC CCB detection – In the absence of 24VDC for the CCB, the auto drop signal automatically shuts off. • Converts the communication from RS232 to RS422. Confidential
