  3. SimGen Product SimGen is a rapid aerodynamic prediction tool for flight model development and conceptual design. SimGen uses industry-accepted computational and prediction & analysis codes to enable you to quickly compute aerodynamic data for use in simulation flight models or design efforts.

SimGen - Features • Incorporates geometry components for quickly tracing 3-views of an aircraft. • Interfaces to industry-accepted computational and semi-empirical aerodynamic prediction and analysis codes • Currently supports HASC2002 and Missile DATCOM • Auto-executes the aerodynamics code and post-processes the data into simulation data tables • Incorporates propulsion model generation capability for HASC module, supporting turbofan (high, med, low bypass) and small turbojet engines. • Modular software design structure accommodates future modules for generating simulation math model components (aero, propulsion, flight controls, etc.) • Supports export of aerodynamics tables to DSix project structure code for rapid simulation development

SimGen - Process • Import the aircraft 3-view drawings • Use SimGen’s drawing components to “trace” the aircraft geometry • Process the geometry model • Assign airfoil types, twist, control surface range of motion, etc • Define Alpha, Beta, Mach schedules • Assign engine types, number, scale, etc. • Execute the computational method • Generate data tables!

SimGen - Applications • Easily perform aero and flight dynamics trade-offs in configuration design studies. • Produce a baseline simulation of your aircraft that is ready for augmentation with wind tunnel data • Generate predictive flight models for various simulation purposes (e.g., battlespace scenarios) • Generate rapid predictions of configuration change effects such as store addition or surface loss.
