E N D
Eschatology • The study of “last things” (eschatos) • A few things are certain: • Even the wisest person should understand that they don’t understand it in its entirety • The timing, the interpretation, and specific timing is elusive at best • The conclusion, the position of the disciple of Christ, and eternal are certain. • And in the middle, are details that require faith
The Disclaimer • Pastor’s preach truth, help others see, understand, and interpret scripture • They are held in higher account because they have been given authority to teach truth • The study of Revelation is not based on realized fact and truth, there is still much interpretation • I will teach the multiple interpretations for awareness. In the end, Faith in Jesus, not Eschatology, leads to eternal life
The timing…. • Premillennial, postmillennial, amillennial, prewrath, postwrath • Pre Tribulation, Mid Tribulation, Post Tribulation • 7 years of tribulation, two sets of 3.5 year tribulations, 1000 millennial reign, Second Coming, Rapture, Partial Rapture
What Jesus said about it… • Matthew 24-25 • Mark 13 • Luke 17:20-37 • Luke 21:7-36
Brief, Premature, & Accurate conclusion • The church will be shaken • Authenticity judged by the One True Judge • Those with the “Power” to stand will stand • Those who carry the Name of Jesus will be rescued • Those who do not carry the Name of Jesus will be tested, tried, destroyed, or redeemed
